The access and query of information stored on the website www.efe.cl provides of the following privacy policy terms and conditions of general use for its operation and functionality:
For the purposes of these guidelines, the user refers to the person who voluntarily registers on www.efe.cl, using the forms provided for such purposes. The visitor refers to a person who freely accesses the information available on www.efe.cl without previously registering.
For all legal effects, the user or visitor can freely decide whether to use or not the site www.efe.cl; however, in case of using it, it will be understood that he/she agrees to the following terms of use and privacy policy.
PRIVACY POLICY
Pursuant to article 19 No. 4 of the Constitution and the applicable provisions of Law No. 19.628, on protection to private life and its subsequent amendments, personal data arising from the EFE’s web page www.efe.cl is governed by the following rules:
a) EFE ensures confidentiality for the personal data of those users that are registered in the web page www.efe.cl, through the applicable form(s). Notwithstanding the legal faculties, EFE shall only give such treatment to personal data with respect to that provided voluntarily by the registered users in the mentioned forms.
b) The users’ personal data shall only be used for the purposes mentioned in the applicable form.
c) In case it is judicially requested, it shall communicate the personal data of those users subject of such request.
d) EFE may disclose statistical information based on the users’ personal data to third parties, without the express consent of the user, when from such data it is not possible to individually identify the user, in accordance with the law.
e) In any moment the user may exercise the rights granted by Law No. 19.628 and its subsequent amendments. Specifically the user may:
- Request information from the database where EFE is responsible, the juridical foundation for its existence, purpose, and type of data stored and the universe of people that comprises.
- Request information on the data related to his/her person, its source and the addressee, purpose of the storage, individualization of the people or entities to which his/her data has been regularly delivered.
- Request to modify the personal data when it is not correct or updated, as applicable. Request, according to Law No. 19.628, a copy of the altered registry in the applicable part if it is the case.
f) With respect to the recollection and treatment of data, performed by automatic mechanisms with the purpose of registering the activity of the visitors and generating audience records, EFE can only use such information to elaborate reports for the above mentioned purposes. In no case it may perform operations implying an association of such information to an identified or identifiable user.

2.- www.efe.cl is a public information site; however, improper use of the contents herein is prohibited, contents of this web site cannot be used for commercial purposes or profit of any kind, nor for illegal purposes. Any modification, alteration or any change for a different purpose to the ones contained in this web site are prohibited.

4.- Active transparency information provided in the web site is done pursuant to Law No. 20.285, On Access to Public Information and the SEP Code, the latter given by the Public Companies System.
APPLICABLE LAW
Any issue, difficulty or controversy arising from the use of this web or its contents shall be governed and construed according to this Terms of Use and the Chilean Law. The parties are submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of law of the city of Santiago de Chile for the resolution of any conflict regarding the use of this web site.
EFE reserves the right to amend this terms and conditions of use in any time and manner.
